Proven Playbooks From Real App Growth

The Success Pattern Library distills thousands of app store experiments into repeatable strategies you can apply to your own app. Instead of generic ASO advice, you get data-backed patterns derived from what actually worked in your specific category.

Every pattern in the library is extracted from real before-and-after data. When we say a strategy works, we can show you the apps that used it and the results they achieved.

How Patterns Are Built

ASODOG tracks apps daily across seven English-speaking markets. When an app makes changes to its store listing and sees a measurable improvement in rankings, ratings, or review velocity, we capture that as a data point. When multiple apps in the same category achieve similar results with similar changes, that becomes a pattern.

Each pattern includes:

  • The change - Exactly what the apps modified in their listings
  • The outcome - Ranking improvements, rating changes, and review velocity shifts that followed
  • Sample size - How many apps demonstrated this pattern, so you can judge confidence
  • Category context - Whether the pattern is universal or specific to certain app categories
  • Timing - How long it took for the impact to show and how long it lasted

Browse and Filter

The library is organized by category so you can find patterns relevant to your app. Filter by:

  • Biggest rank jumps - Apps that moved 50+ positions in category rankings after a specific change
  • Fastest growth - Apps that achieved rapid review velocity increases within 30 days
  • Recent winners - Patterns from the last 90 days so you are working with current App Store dynamics
  • Change type - Focus on title changes, description rewrites, screenshot updates, or pricing experiments

Example Patterns

Here is what pattern-based intelligence looks like in practice:

Title optimization in Productivity - 147 apps in Productivity added “AI” to their title in the last 180 days. 68% saw rank improvement within 30 days, with an average gain of +12 positions. The best performers used specific phrasing like “AI Budget Assistant” rather than generic labels like “AI Budgeting.”

Description structure in Health and Fitness - Top 20 meditation apps share a common description structure: lead with the primary benefit, follow with three to five features, then close with social proof. Apps that adopted this structure saw 23% higher conversion rates from store page views to downloads.

Update cadence in Games - Casual games that update every 14 to 21 days maintain rankings 40% better than those that update monthly or less frequently. The content of the update matters less than the consistency.

Why Patterns Beat Guesswork

Most developers optimize their app listings through trial and error. They change a keyword, wait two weeks, check if anything happened, and try something else. That cycle can take months to yield useful insights, and even then you are working with a sample size of one.

The Success Pattern Library compresses that learning curve. Instead of running your own experiments from scratch, you start with strategies that have already proven effective across dozens or hundreds of similar apps. You still need to adapt them to your specific situation, but you are starting from a much stronger position.
