Organization Enrollment

Enrolling in the Apple Developer Program as a company or organization rather than as an individual, requiring a D-U-N-S number for identity verification.

Organization enrollment is the Apple Developer Program membership type designed for companies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and government entities. Instead of listing a personal name on the App Store, apps published under an organization account display the company’s official legal name as the developer.

Requirements

To enroll as an organization, you need a D-U-N-S number issued by Dun & Bradstreet, which Apple uses to verify your entity’s legal existence. You must also have legal authority to bind the organization to Apple’s agreements, or have someone with that authority approve the enrollment. The organization must be a recognized legal entity in its jurisdiction. Sole proprietorships, DBAs, and trade names may not qualify depending on the region.

Benefits Over Individual Enrollment

Organization accounts unlock team management features, allowing you to invite multiple developers and assign granular roles such as Admin, App Manager, Developer, Marketing, and Finance. This makes collaboration across departments straightforward. Your company name appears as the seller on every app you publish, lending credibility and brand consistency across your portfolio.

ASO Impact

The developer name field on App Store listings is indexed by Apple’s search algorithm. An organization enrollment lets you set a company name that can include strategically relevant keywords. A professional company name also improves perceived trust, which can positively influence tap-through and conversion rates on search results.
